With over 20 years of experience in media, PR, and brand storytelling, Penny shared how she’s using her background — from working with Global Radio, ITV, and the Press Association — to help small businesses get noticed and grow.
Her work is two-fold:

Mentoring and coaching for solopreneurs who want to learn to do it themselves
One of her standout stories involved a solopreneur in the embroidery space — creating keepsakes and memory pieces. With Penny’s guidance, she achieved national press coverage, won five awards, and built a business that fit her life — on her terms.
Penny’s philosophy is simple but powerful: PR shouldn’t be out of reach. She teaches clients how to speak to journalists the right way — not by pushing ads, but by crafting stories that editors actually want to run.

What is Hot Stories?
Every second Wednesday of the month, from 10am–12pm, we meet at The Red Lion in Cherry Hinton. These in-person sessions are designed to help local businesses share their story, grow their network, and find genuine support.
