We often associate business success with structure, precision, and straight-line thinking.
But Ricke Williams of Cadre Rocket challenges that entirely—and invites us to explore how neurodiversity, especially dyslexia and ADHD, can be among the greatest assets in business.
In his energising talk at Hot Stories Cambridge, Ricke shared eye-opening insights:
40 % of business owners are dyslexic, and one third of those also have ADHD.
Many aren’t officially diagnosed—it’s simply how their brains are wired.
And that wiring? It’s powerful.
Dyslexic thinkers excel at 3D visualisation, dynamic reasoning, and narrative storytelling. They build mental maps with rich interconnections—allowing them to see problems from unique angles and deliver innovative solutions.
Ricke described how he processes language not through phonetics, but through stored images—creating an intricate network of neural anchors. This allows him to forecast ideas and connect patterns with a rare depth of understanding.
He summed it up perfectly:
🧠 “We don’t think in lines. We think in leaps. And then we work backwards to make it relatable.”
