Sometimes, the best business stories aren’t about profit - they’re about people.
At a recent Hot Stories Business Networking event in Cambridge, Ricke Williams, Director of Cadre Rocket Networking, shared a story that perfectly captures his philosophy: business should start with helping others.
“I was at the dentist for a routine check-up,” Ricke began. “While paying at reception, I overheard the ladies talking about how tough Christmas might be this year. I couldn’t help but think - I can help with that.”
Ricke explained how he introduced them to the Utility Warehouse Cashback Card, a purple card that rewards users for bundling services like energy, broadband, mobile, and insurance under one account.
With up to £150 cashback available (depending on the services chosen), customers can not only save on their monthly bills but also simplify their finances - with everything on one bill.
“It’s not about pushing a product,” Ricke said. “It’s about helping people make informed choices that genuinely improve their situation.”
Ricke also shared real customer feedback:
“One client told me, ‘It’s fantastic - everything’s in one bill, it’s simplified our life.’ That’s what it’s about - making things easier for people.”
He reminded everyone that savings are more than numbers - they’re opportunities. “When you save money, you free up time, energy, and peace of mind.”
At the heart of Ricke’s message is something every business owner can relate to - your work should add value to people’s lives.
