At Hot Stories Cambridge, every speaker brings something special to the table—but few leave the room quite as moved as when Scott Dwyer took the stage.
Scott is not just a business strategist with over 30 years’ experience in facilities management, emergency response, health & safety compliance, and regulatory growth—he is also a man rebuilding his life after surviving a major trauma accident.
Now, using the strength of his recovery and professional expertise, Scott is on a mission to give back—to fellow business owners and to the charity that saved his life: Magpas Air Ambulance.
A Personal Journey That Powers a Public Cause
Scott began by sharing a glimpse into his extraordinary personal story. Three years ago, a traumatic accident left him in and out of a wheelchair. The road to recovery continues, with another two years likely ahead. But instead of slowing down, Scott chose to accelerate forward—with purpose.
In May alone, Scott raised nearly £7,000 for Magpas Air Ambulance, funding the equivalent of two full air missions. Inspired by the overwhelming support and the impact the charity has had on his own life, Scott expanded his challenge:
🚨 From a 100-mile to a 300-mile wheelchair push by 7th September 2025.
This mission isn’t just about physical strength. It’s about mental resilience, community support, and creating real-world impact.
Business Support Meets Fundraising
True to his nature as a mentor and strategist, Scott didn’t stop at fundraising.
He made a generous offer to the room at Hot Stories:
🙌 Win a Half-Day Business Strategy Consultation
Anyone who donates a minimum of £25 to Scott’s JustGiving page by 31st July 2025 will be entered into a prize draw. The lucky winner, to be selected by Renata Rimkutė, will receive a free half-day consultancy session from Scott himself.
This isn’t just a token prize. Scott has:
Taken businesses from £750k to £4.2 million turnover
Helped businesses become profitable after 14 years of operating at a loss
Provided clear, actionable, strategic guidance that drives measurable results
Whether you're just starting out or looking to scale sustainably, Scott’s expertise can make a game-changing difference.

The Power of Community
Scott gave special thanks to Renata Rimkutė, founder of Hot Stories, and Chris Hornby, the photographer who has been documenting his recovery journey from hospital visits to branded campaign materials. This kind of long-term support and connection is what makes Hot Stories not just an event, but a community.
Scott’s story is a reminder that business is about more than numbers. It’s about purpose. It’s about contribution. And most of all—it’s about people.
